Weekly Lab Notebook
July 4 – July 10
Colin - I created the openwetware wiki to be similar to our current wiki, but it is more condensed. Also, the topbar for the website was improved, making it more informative and helpful in website navigation. Later on in the week, the project description was finalized after making minor edits and posting it on the wiki.
Jeremy - While debugging, I upgraded my software, entering dependency hell. This ended in the complete destruction of my hard drive. This rolled back all of my improvements about one month, because of incomplete backups.
Anna - Took a couple days off, was my birthday and Fourth of July. Learned more about cellular modeling, this is something that really interests me. Read a couple of papers about different modeling tools.
Bobak - Ironing out bugs from entrez format changes
Researching COBRA toolbox, matlab-python interface
Implementing and iterating on views in BioMORTAR: imptools and strain designer
Performance improvements to enzyme -> gene sequence Entrez lookup
Implementing organism enzyme -> gene search and 'closest' organism
