TEAM ALBERTA

GENOMIKON: An Educational Toolkit for Rapid Genetic Construction

Building DNA is too hard. It has to be cheaper, faster, and easier, so that everyone can do it. So... we've created an inexpensive, self-contained educational kit called GENOMIKON. The kit is targeted for the high school and the DIY community and comes with online lab manual, notebook, and experiment software. It can also be used by professionals as well.

Continually developing the BioByte assembly technology created by the Alberta 2009 team, we were able to make this rapid plasmid assembly method amenable to a high school teaching kit.
