Materials
You will need:
- Deionized water
- Tryptone
- NaCl
- Yeast Extract
Procedure
- Combine 10g tryptone, 5g yeast extract, 10g NaCl, and 950 mL of deionized water into a large beaker/Erlenmeyer flask.
- Mix until dissolved.
- Check to see if the pH is 7.0 using a pH meter. If needed, add 5N NaOH to adjust the pH to 7.0.
- Fill solution to 1L with deionized water.
- Aliquot into smaller glass bottles. (Optional)
- Autoclave.
Purpose
For culturing desired microbes.
