My research involves the study of parasitoid wasps that develop within the bodies of caterpillars. These wasps develop as the caterpillar develops and ultimately emerge from the caterpillar (to the detriment of the host). If you've seen the movie "Aliens" you kind of get the picture of the grim life of a parasitized caterpillar and the cool critters that develop inside them. Note that things are a little more complicated than Ridley Scott suggests. I'd be happy to elaborate if you're interested....
