This year we have received a few inquiries from iGEM teams who would like to contact other iGEM participants to survey, receive input, collaborate, or work on other community-based projects.

If your team is working on a project that could use the collaborative help of the iGEM 2010 community, please contact HQ so that we can include your project on this list.

We encourage all iGEM participants to help out other teams as much as possible.

Note: It is iGEM policy not to share our email list with anyone, so unfortunately teams may not request a mailing list in order to contact other iGEM participants.

Team British Columbia - Human Practices Art

Calling for all synthetic biologists who moonlight as artists and novelists! For our human practices, UBC iGEM is constructing the first iGEM synthetic biology art gallery and also collaborating with NaNoWriMo to showcase novels featuring synthetic biology. We would like to invite all iGEM teams to contribute by submitting their artwork, poems, stories, photos and even doodles about synthetic biology. "Art is the queen of all sciences communicating knowledge to all the generations of the world" - Leonardo da Vinci. We believe that this will address diverse issues and also act as catalysts for deeper discussions about synthetic biology and its future applications. For more information, please feel free to browse our human practices page ( https://2010.igem.org/Team:British_Columbia/HumanPractices) and contact us at ubcigem AT gmail.com!

Team METU Turkey Software

As METU_TURKEY_SOFTWARE Team, we would like to invite you to collaborate with us in our effort to develop new standards for Parts Registry and user-friendly Part Registry Forms and Parts Entry pages. As the field of Synthetic Biology is on the rise, iGEM is getting more popular each year with the increased number of teams joining in the competition. Thus, the number of parts in the parts registry is increasing with the addition of more complex parts. After facing few difficulties on the parts registry pages and even during submission of parts, the need for standardization of parts entry and part registry pages have became apparent to our team. We have designed a short survey to identify the drawbacks in Part Registry and Entry Pages, along with the most desired specifications you would like to see on Parts Registry. We will appreciate your participation, which shouldn’t take longer than 10 minutes. Your feedback will help us to design a better and improved Parts Registry with new standards and all iGEM teams will benefit from the well characterized and updated information that will be available for each parts. If you have any questions before or after taking the survey, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Team Freiburg Bioware - Cuckoo Clock Competition

Freiburg10 CCC.png

iGEM focuses on science, but also encompasses community outreach, communication, representation and last but not least, fun in the lab. All this is often communicated best with visual impressions. Several team wikis feature great photos, but some of them are hard to find. Therefore, we thought it would be best to bundle them and highlight the best ones to maximize impact. This is why we started an iGEM photo-contest: The Cuckoo Clock Competition. As the name implies, the first prize is an original Cuckoo Clock typical for the gorgeous Black Forest surrounding Freiburg. All teams are cordially invited to participate! Please send your pictures of choice representing your team, project, spirit or fun in the lab along with a short description to our e-mail address: igem.freiburg.2010@googlemail.com Your pictures will be uploaded to the competition webpage as soon as we get them. In addition, we will send you a participation badge for your team wiki. A judging committee consisting of members from three different iGEM teams will vote for the winner picture. The team with the best picture will receive our amazing Cuckoo Clock in Boston at the socializing event on Sunday. So put your stressful projects aside for a few minutes and take the fun part! Looking forward to meeting you in Boston.

Cheers,

The iGEM team Freiburg 2010
