Outreach
Summer Workshops
During Summer 2010, we gave talks about Synthetic Biology and iGEM to high school students that participated in the Summer@Brown program and were enrolled in the various biological sciences and engineering classes offered.
Poster session
We presented 2 posters to the Providence and Brown community: one on the iGEM competition/Synthetic Biology and one on our iGEM project this year.File:UTRA symposium What is Brown iGEM poster (2).pdf

Activities Fair
Every year, Brown holds an activities fair for incoming first-year students. The majority of the ~1500 person freshman class attends this fair. We presented a poster on our project(s) and a poster on the entire iGEM program. After talking to innumerable interested first-years, we built an email list of ~70 interested students. These students are being kept up to date with our progress and will be encouraged to apply for our iGEM team next year. By creating a community of younger students, we can keep Brown iGEM strong in the years to come.
