Achievements

On this page we would like to elaborate our judgment form a bit more. Of course you can also read our official judgement form.

Requirements for a Bronze Medal:

The whole iGEM project has been awesome. From the moment that we first got together, designed our project untill the stressful final hours before the deadline it was a lot of fun.

  • Successfully complete and submit this iGEM 2010 Judging form.
  • Create and share a Description of the team's project using the iGEM wiki and the team's parts using the Registry of Standard Biological Parts.
  • Plan to present a Poster and Talk at the iGEM Jamboree.
  • Enter information detailing at least one new standard BioBrick Part or Device in the Registry of Standard Biological Parts.
  • Submit DNA for at least one new BioBrick Part or Device to the Registry.

Requirements for a Silver Medal:

  • Demonstrate that at least one new BioBrick Part or Device of your own design and construction works as expected; characterize the operation of your new part/device.
  • Enter this information and other documentation on both the iGEM 2010 wiki and the Registry.

While waiting for our DNA to be synthesized we decided to spend the time on characterizing bricks from the distribution plate.

We were happy to share the source code of our wiki with many iGEM Teams. Some tips and tricks have summarized on our Wiki Tips and Tricks page.

For the design of our BioBricks we developed a protocol that guides you through getting the sequence from GenBank, optimizing it for E. coli expression, removing unwanted restriction sites and coupling it to the BioBrick prefix and suffix.
