Today, we read through various scientific ideas that pertained to the projects that we brainstormed yesterday. As well, we learned the proper techniques for making plates with antibiotic resistance. We made stocks of LB agar plates that had ampicilin and kanamycin antibiotics mixed in, which would allow for selective growth when plasmids were inserted. Only those plasmids with a particular antibiotic resistance will be able to survive on the plates.
