Glycerol (Freezer) Stocks

Materials

  • 0.5mL overnight LB culture
  • 0.5mL 50% glycerol (sterile)
  • Cryotube or 1.5mL Eppendorff
  • Dry ice/ethanol or LN2

Procedure

  1. Mix overnight cell culture with equal parts 50% glycerol solution in cryotube.
  2. Label and add to dry ice/ethanol bath.
  3. Freeze for 10 minutes. Store at -80°C.
