Discussion
- Capsule capsule is about showing the capability of putting capsuled E.colis, no real need to make one.To make one, We need to use 'quick-freezing' method. microorganisms don't die but go to hibernation when the environment is not apt, so no need to worry about reviving them.
- Electric circuit We need to find some examples in which this circuit is used to put it in the brochure.
Advisor's comments
- Capsule When freeze-dried, E. coli becomes a powder-form. When dissolved in water, it will be adequate for E.coli to revive. Show a simulation in presentation to show that it is actually possible.
- Circuit
- Acetaldehyde actually works!
- There is no report that a single stimulation could turn on/off a circuit, not in iGEM
- We need a promoter sequence
- Make a simple logic circuit and go for simulation
calculate probable number, find a circuit and simplify it. - Think of the circuit as a OR not AND
Pic of circuit
- Sposor: Refer to last google mail group. Organized well in bw Aug-Sep, 2009
Brochure
Try to show exact characteristic of iGEM team
We need to show firmly that this is a INTERNATIONAL competition
Put more pics
Try to appeal as future comsumers
Thinking of sponsors as mostly ventures, they might focus more on exportation.
We need to show them that we will be a good commercial to consumers overseas.
Show that the students participating in iGEM are future synthetic biologists!
Pics of members
put a pic of everyone! to emphasize teamwork!
Impressive contents!
The contents really don't catch the eye. Bad pictures, too.
Deal with more of capability of heavymetal E.coli
Make it simpler for non-experts to understand!
More detailed reason for sposor
Last brochure didn't mention the exact reason why they need budget
We have to show exactly how we are going to PR the companies
Those methods should surely be charming!
