Phototaxis:
Progress report: We have detected the Cambridge part BBa_K274210 (Beta-carotene generator) in some of our cells. This is a big step towards function of our retinal generator, as the enzyme we hope to express uses beta-carotene as substrate. Our next step in this process will be to demonstrate the pressence of beta-carotene in our cells through experiments, while we wait for cDNA from the drosophila database.

In regards to the photosensor we have contacted melbourne about the strains, since we're still not getting through to Spudich lab. They have responded, and are trying to help us get hold of the strain.

Modelling:
Progress report: We have completed the program to such a degree that we can see the effect of different parameters in the program. We are now doing some problemshooting and discussing what exactly should be the different limits on the model. There is a wall in our system and we are unsure on how to handle this. Tomorrow we hope to receive som guidance on the problem, in which case we will probably use some time going through our model investigating how this can be solved.
