UCL IGEM 2010

Notebook - Week 3

Monday 12th July

I guess the real work really started this week, Xiang and James got down to analysing exactly how about we were going to out the lab work, and the plan behind it. Somehow, we mangaged to convince ourselves that's we will be done in 3 weeks, that's taking into consideration that there are 0 errors and 100% efficiency. James designed a "pretty plan" on powerpoint, quite impressive actually.

Tuesday 13th July

Today Xiang, James, Mariam and Omar met up to really discuss how the lab work will be structered. We had forms and other issues to sort out such as beofre our lab work really kick started.

Wednesday 14th July

Thursday 15th July

We have already emphasised the importance of safety, and so we went about arranging for a safety session where our suprvisors ans safety technicians went through the to do and not to do rules of the lab, well atleast that's what we thought it would be like. So to summarise, we now know how to pinpoint the location of all the fire extinguishers in the ACBE...yes indeed..was a great session.

Friday 16th July

To summarise, it was quite a rellaxing week where we got a chance to get to know eachother better and also to understand iGEM further. All of us spentt a lot of timeresearching and undederstanding what we were going to put ourselves through over the enxt few months :D.
