The software launched on our 184 unmodified sequences succeed for 98% of the sequences. Over the 82 Select Agent sequences, all were correctly flagged. On the non select agent sequences, 4 were false hits.

Amino-acid results

If only amino-acid sequence were screened, 95% of sequences would have been correctly screened. 6% of select agent sequences would not have been flagged, and 4% of non select agent sequences would have been wrongly flagged.

Nucleotid results

Just one sequence over the 102 non select agent sequences would have been flagged with only nucleotide sequences, and that sequence is also flagged by amino_acid screening. But 3 select agent sequences would not have been flagged (4%) whithout taking into account the amino-acid result.

Conclusion

These results show the need to screen both amino-acid and nucleotide sequences. Screening amino-acid could add false positive result, but each screening flagged dangerous sequences that are not flagged by the other one.
