Alan: Microcracks normally occur in concrete, which could undermine the structure integrity. To make matter worst, some places are inaccessible to normal repair methods. Bacillus species could be an ideal candidate since it is able to precipitate CaCO3 (Use of bacterias to repair cracks in concrete, Tittelboom et al, cement and concrete research (2009)
We can once again enhance the process of detection and repair of cracks.
