We don't want to be judgmental but bring synthetic biology out of the laboratories to be discussed in public. By connecting it with our everyday life, we hope to foster an open discourse about chances and dangers, and potential protective mechanisms. A informed general public is needed to react on the many ethical and cultural challenges coming with Synthetic Biology.

As mentioned we want to start a societal discussion about synthetic biology with our project Super Cell.  We don't want to give a judgement but to bring synthetic biology out of the laboratories on the street, to connect it with our every day life to arouse an open discourse about chances and dangers, probably needed protective mechanisms and to do away with prejudices against synthetic biology with the aim to cultivate new competencies that this new technology claims.
