Today, we observed  our plates where competent  cells with our constructs were grown and observed for RFP under a UV light. We also held a discussion on what we could do with the ethics and judging portion of our project. In addition to this, we discussed possible community outreach that we could do to promote synthetic biology. We made antibiotic broth and attempted construction again using the same plasmids that did not contain the DNA binding dye.

Wednesday May 26, 2010

Today, we observed our plates where competent cells with our constructs were grown and observed for RFP under a UV light. We also held a discussion on what we could do with the ethics and judging portion of our project. In addition to this, we discussed possible community outreach that we could do to promote synthetic biology. We made antibiotic broth and attempted construction again using the same plasmids that did not contain the DNA binding dye.
