iGEM Groningen 2010

Hydrophobofilm
pushing coatings into a greener future

Maarten

This is me

Hello everybody!

My name is Maarten van den Nieuwenhof, 25 years old and studying molecular life sciences at the University of Groningen. I've always been intrigued by science and when I finally started studying biology it got even worse. It just blows my mind the things we can do nowadays, especially in the field of synthetic biology. When I heard about the iGEM competition I instantly knew I wanted to join this year's team from our university.

Most of my spare time I spend on my friends, chilling, having a beer. But I'm also putting a lot of time into theater and lately music as well. And since I am a bit of a nerdy biologist I grow herbs, vegetables and fruits in my kitchen and on my balcony.

Well I hope you guys have great fun working on your projects, we sure do, and I hope to see you all in Boston!

I'm really looking forward to the iGem jamboree and meeting people from all over the world. See you in Boston!

Maarten
