I'm Joël Kuiper, 22 years old. I was born in Holland and currently doing a bachelors in Artificial Intelligence. During my studies I've developed a deep interest in an area called Computational Neuroscience: the modeling of the brain and neurons by using math and computers. However during the development of this interest I realized that my curiosity extends further than just neuroscience, it goes into the intriguing and interesting plane between (systems)biology and computer science. So I began investigating the areas of systems biology and eventually reached iGem as a way to improve my knowledge and skills of the area. During iGem I hope to contribute my part to this fantastic development of human knowledge and of course have a lot of fun with the team!

During iGem I hope to contribute my part to this fantastic development of human knowledge and of course have a lot of fun with the team!

Next to my academic interests I love to do photography and occasionally play a computer game or two.
