We had a nice slow day, finishing some small experiments and reorganizing our iGEM room. We hide all the stuff from last years team in a closet so now our room is nice and tidy.

We also booked a hotel in Boston!

Lab work

Pieter and Eva worked on the emulsifying activity assay. Four samples were tested:

Sample Amount of SDS Hexalkane
1 Blank 0
2 0% SDS 0.02 mL
3 0.01% SDS 0.02 mL
4 1% SDS 0.02 mL

Tris buffer (pH 8) was added to a total volume of 7.5 ml.

Incubate 1h at 30C at shaken at 200 RPM.

Absorbance measured at 600 nm.
