Workshop.jpg

Helping to promote the synthetic biology in our country, which for our team is essential for next generations, we organize in the summer, being pioneers in the topic, the first synthetic biology workshop of Mexico. We invite undergraduate students of biological and chemical sciences, systemic biology and physical-mathematics for all over the country.

The team representing UNAM in the first synthetic biology workshop.
The first day. Giving us an intoduction to the workshop.
Brainstorming at the first week.

In this workshop were implicated more than ten of the most important institutions dedicated to biotechnology, synthetic biology and mathematical sciences. The students came from nine different states of Mexico and this was great for the interchange of new and original ideas.

Wetlab work, learning how to digest plasmids with the IGEM requested enzimes.
Arriving to the lab early to begin our day activities.
Waiting for ligations or posing for the camera?

Among other things we have seminars of some Ph.D every day, wet lab work with biobricks and IGEM vectors and a theorical-modeling course. At the end of the summer all the teams had created projects to overcome human practices and they learn a lot of synthetic biology and its importance in the world.

Theorical course. It was a headache for everyone, just look.
Discussing the methodology of our lab project.
The final stage, exposing the project at the end of the summer.
