For the production of different viral therapy vectors three types of plasmid are transfected: The capsid coding plasmid that codes for the capsid proteins and the rep proteins, a vector plasmid that contains the ITRs, is armed with a therapeutic GOI and will be packaged into the retargeted viral vectors and a third category for parts that do not belong to one on the previous categories but is related or required for the Virus Construction Kit.

Freiburg Bioware's 2010 iGEM Project BioBrick Parts

In the list below you can find an overview over the BioBrick parts created by the iGEM team Freiburg_Bioware 2010 and provided within the Virus Construction Kit. This Kit comprises different parts that can be used to produce therapeutical viral vectors based on the Adeno-associated Virus (AAV-2). For more clearness we and better usability for later users we sorted this years into three cathegories that can also be found in the parts registry as cathegories:

  • //viral_vectors
  • //viral_vectors/aav
  • //viral_vectors/aav/capsid_coding
  • //viral_vectors/aav/vector_plasmid
  • //viral_vectors/aav/vector_miscellaneous

For the production of different viral therapy vectors three types of plasmid are transfected: The capsid coding plasmid that codes for the capsid proteins and the rep proteins, a vector plasmid that contains the ITRs, is armed with a therapeutic GOI and will be packaged into the retargeted viral vectors and a third category for parts that do not belong to one on the previous categories but is related or required for the Virus Construction Kit.
